Construction Longer x B Corp.
Our goal is to integrate B Corp into our business processes. We are currently working to incorporate certification and its requirements into our various areas of expertise and our ways of doing things. The primary goal is to continually improve and bring the B Corp certification to life as we evolve and grow. As a company, but also as an agent of change in our industry.
91.3
Our passion for innovation and the pursuit of excellence has always been at the heart of what we do, not just for our team, but to transform the industry as a whole. As a general contractor, we see beyond the simple construction of buildings; we are the builders of infrastructure that provide healthy living environments and allow our community to flourish.
What is B Corp?
The B Corp certification, or “Beneficial Corporation”, is a certification issued by the B Lab, a non-profit organization. It is awarded to companies that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. The main objective of the B Corp certification is to promote a sustainable and responsible business model, which takes into account the impact on the environment, employees, customers and the community in general.
Why become a B Corp?
We chose B Corp to affirm our commitment to the social and environmental responsibility that the company has towards its environment. This certification, backed by a global network of companies that share similar values, demonstrates that the company takes seriously its commitment to sustainability and the well-being of employees, customers and its community.
We have chosen to display our certification to inform all those who share the vision of a sustainable economic model to join our team as a colleague or partner. We also want to inform and raise awareness among the players in our industry that it is possible to maintain healthy business relationships.
The more companies that come together to make a difference, the faster change will happen. We therefore wish to participate in this movement of environmental, social and governance awareness.
Our experience.
From the start of the certification process, we quickly realized how much the construction industry needed change. B-Lab categorizes our industry as controversial and asks us to complete a “Controversial Industry review”, before going further in the process.
Once this review has been passed, we must meet a set of criteria that cover environmental, social and governance performance. All answers must be supported by documents allowing the B Lab team to assess us adequately.
Companies that achieve B Corp certification join a global network of companies committed to using their business activities to create a positive impact on society and the environment. In our case, we even have the chance to use this network to help us in our objective of restoring the image of construction.
B Corp allows us to make a real difference, change behaviors and leave our mark in our industry.
